Goodbye Makai

Vessel Sold

A ton of additional work was poured into Makai in the Spring and Summer of 2002, she was finally ready for travel by early August. Unfortuantely, (as usual - much of the New England Summer was a bust... Fall was even worse!

Spring 2003 saw yet more work on Makai. As her ablative bottom paint was coming up on two years old, some sanding and re-painting was in order prior to launch. She was carefully prepared and done up right with the finest paint (...good for another two years).

But, two full size boats to commission each year was just way too much work for one guy! One had to go, as it came out - Makai got a new captain. (All the best of luck Brett.) In summary, the boat turned out to be an interesting project for me. I learned a lot more about simple powerboats and was pleased with the improvements and upgrades I contributed to the vessel. Goodbye Makai!
