Greetings SI Player...

This is an info. filed created by a Stunt Island user. This version of the
Stunt Island Player Utility "PLAYONE.EXE" and its associated files are
put together here -AFTER- the large 5 part SI SoundBlaster 16 Patch has
been applied. This large patch, produced by Disney, fixed a slight degrading
or garble to the digitized voice sounds in SI when using a SB16 card.
It also fixed so reported problems of using SI with 486 class machines.

The patch was very comprehensive and altered many files, including PLAYONE,
and several here. The result is a Stunt Island Player
that works with the majority of new sound cards and 486 systems.

There is another "official" version of the player available from Disney,
this update called SIPLAY.EXE is actually OLDER than this version
and much prior to the comprehensive 1994 patch.

Thus, I suggest that if digital sounds are not "crystal clear" (which
they most likely are not, unless you are using an original 8 bit
Soundblaster card or Clone (circa 1991), use and share this set
of PLAYONE files as your Viewer Utility when distributing your films.

Observations:

If have seen one behavior of this Player which does not appear
to be correct (i.e. bug) and is noted in detail below with work-a-round.

(1) If the film ends with a looping digitized sound (such as an engine),
the sound will not stop when the film ends, (that is at least with older
films which came with the original SI program.

However, sound is easily shut off by selecting the EXIT or LOAD
BUTTON once the file has ended.

---Below is only applicable if you have the full Stunt Island Program--

(2) If this bugs you, you can fix this by going in and adding a non-looping
digitized sound to the end of the program, like the CLAPPER for example,
in Editing. Remember you must process the film with MAKEONE again to
    create a new *.ALL file.

I have also tried to fix this problem by incorporating various files from
SIPLAY.EXE version of the player. That is, swapping out various files, it
had no effect. Either did eliminating expanded memory on the system in
question. No big deal really.

Enjoy the Show!
